When I breastfeed, which with gobble, gummy guts Jacob - frequently. I have had family/friends who would actually prefer to leave the room or so gently suggest "Oh, your going to feed, i'll just entertain myself while you go do that and I'll wait here till you come back" this is because they find it uncomfortable, Even though you actually can't see anything - If by some chance you happen to catch a glimpse, i can guarantee you will see much less than you would see watching TV or reading your magazine.

Here is an image provided by Isabel Mazouin censored with more appropriate images Her goal was to point out the the Twisted Perception of breastfeeding.

A childhood favourite movie for me was Pollyanna, within the movie Pollyanna tells a story how the Glad game was invented by her father after her parents had requested that one of their supporting churches send a doll for their young daughter.
When the missionary supply package had arrived, it had contained a set of crutches rather than the requested doll. Pollyanna's father had stood with her, looking at those crutches, and had told her that they must look for something to be glad about for the arrival of the crutches - and they had decided that they were glad they didn't need them! After that it became a regular game for them, and even (or perhaps especially) after her father's death, Pollyanna continues to look for something to be glad about in everything that comes her way.

I know I take so much of what I have for granted, I should be Glad for everything I have...Which is alot!

The idea of the 365 day challange is to take a picture each day, just one picture of something you are greatful for.
Something simple that you normally take for granted but are truly greatful to have in your life.

Tomorrow Begins DAY ONE

Special thanks to Earth Angel Mumma for being the inspiration for me to partake.

I Have discovered apparently Perfume is simple to make, the idea is to put the essential oils together creating a smell you like.
While pregnant I didn't use allot of perfumes, as my inner voice warned me about the possible effect on my unborn child.

I before was Obsessed with fruity, woody, sharp, crisp perfumes my most common compliment being my scent!

To explain a Perfume is made up of base notes: the smell stays the longest on your skin, middle notes smell stays second longest and top notes the smell of oil evaporates first.
Because the oils all evaporate at different rates the perfume may smell different as time goes on.

Some of the most common chemicals in perfumes are ethanol, acetaldehyde, benzaldehyde, benzyl acetate, a-pinene, acetone, benzyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, linalool, a-terpinene, methylene chloride, styrene oxide, dimenthyl sulphate, a-terpineol, camphor, and limonene. Now, as im not a scientist alot of those words didnt mean much to me, after looking around on wikipedia i was shocked to discover how toxic they can be, found in things like paint thinner, cockroach insecticide...Stating that even topical application of some of these can cause seizures, confusion, irritability - neurotoxins!

Not wanting to leave behind my love for fragrances, I plan to make some "perfumes" using essential oils.

Below are listed easily found essential divided into base, middle and top notes.
• Base notes-cedar wood cinnamon patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla
• Middle notes-clove, geranium, lemongrass, bottle nutmeg, neroli, ylang-ylang
• Top notes-bergamot, lavender lemon lime neroli
• Bridge-vanilla, lavender (add a few drops to join base, middle and top notes together)

To make your perfume, mix at least 25 drops total of essential oils divided evenly between base, middle and top notes. Start with the base notes, then middle, then top, smelling as you go. Add a few drops of the bridge oil. Add 2 1/2 ounces of alcohol

shake for a few minutes, then let it sit for 48 hours (or up to 6 weeks-the longer it sits, the stronger the smell). Add 2 tablespoons spring water, stir, then pour through a coffee filter and put it in a bottle.

Remember essential oils have safe guidelines that should be followed some can be dangerous, handling and use of some essential oils are not safe while pregnant, breastfeeding, blood pressure issues, some should also be avoided if consuming alcohol and medications.
A probiotic is an organism which contributes to the health and balance of the intestinal tract. A probiotic is also referred to as the "friendly", "beneficial", or "good" bacteria which when ingested acts to maintain a healthy intestinal tract and help fight illness and disease.

The word "Probiotic" simply means “for life”

Poor eating habits, chlorinated drinking water, stress, disease and the use of antibiotics in food production as well as in medical treatments can wreak havoc in the gastrointestinal tract by destroying good bacteria and allowing undesirable bacteria to multiply. When the ratio of good bacteria to bad is lowered, problems begin to arise.

Once you have removed the toxic elements from your diet/lifestyle your body will benefit from a probiotic being introduced.

We have recently been introduced to Water kefir, Just one way of obtaining those beneficial bacteria for our bodies

Water kefir is a fermented beverage teeming with beneficial bacteria. Easily flavored, remarkably simple to prepare. Water kefir offers a nice, pleasant alternative to commercial soft drinks.

When water kefir grains are properly cared for and regularly cultured, they produce a wonderful probiotic-rich beverage and will continue to grow and reproduce.

Good for you AND delicious.

This is from a father explaining some of the benefits of breastfeeding - man-style.

Some selfish things a dad should know about breastfeeding (uncensored)

-You're still important!
-Your partner's breasts get beautifully large and fun to play with
-It's a great excuse to rub lotion and lanolin oil all over them!
-The milk tastes pretty good
-It's really fun to squirt if she'll let ya. Even target practice :-P
-Breastfeeding can be a bonding experience for ALL of you. Not just her and the baby
-It's kinda funny sometimes, other times it's hilarious!
-You the dad get to sleep WAY more
-If you want to feel helpful, have her pump and you take over the midnight feedings (this solidifies your status as a straight up HERO btw)
-Your baby is in a MUCH better mood
-You get to see boobs ALL the time! Yay!
-Sick babies are no fun. Breastfed babies are much less likely to get sick, and if they do, they recover MUCH faster because they get the SPECIFIC immune response they need from the mother
-Yes her breasts are going to look and feel a little different when all is said and done. SO WHAT! Boobs are boobs man. Enjoy!
-Formula is REALLY expensive. Like REALLY REALLY expensive
-Babies can't always digest the animal proteins in formula which mean. . . grumpy, smelly, bloated babies with REALLY un-fun diapers
-If you opt for the soy based formula guess what. . . that stuff has got HUGE amounts of estrogen. Turning your little boy into. . .
-All in all. Breastfeeding is the GREATEST thing that can happen for a dad. It's FREE, it's FUN, and most importantly it's what's BEST for your child!

Sincerely, Talon's Daddy

Petroleum based products are being found to cause significant negative effects to the nervous system and immune system after prolonged exposure while using them.
Illnesses identified in the medical research include: adult and child cancers, numerous neurological disorders, immune system weakening, autoimmune disorders, asthma, allergies, infertility, miscarriage, and child behavior disorders including learning disabilities, hyperactivity and ADD (attention deficit disorders). Petroleum based products are believed to cause these problems by a variety of routes including - impairing proper DNA (Gene) expression, weakening DNA Repair, accelerating gene loss, degeneration of the body's detoxification defenses (liver and kidneys) as well as gradual weakening of the brain's primary defense - (the Blood Brain Barrier).

The evidence is in our modern day society...with the increasing use of such products we also have a huge jump in adult and child cancers, numerous neurological disorders, immune system weakening, autoimmune disorders, asthma, allergies, infertility, miscarriage, and child behavior disorders including learning disabilities, ADD.

Petroleum jelly is used as lip balms, make up remover, moistening cosmetic for the skin, "healing" product for both adults and babies. Anyone anywhere can use this because of its affordability and accessibility.
Many manufacturers use petrolatum because it is incredibly cheap.
Don’t be deceived by your beauty products’ tenderness. Beauty should always be gained through healthy lifestyle.

Try replacing petroleum jelly products with an organic coconut oil...
